My updated verdict on Grok 4.5: one of the best models I have used, especially for the speed, price, cooperation, and agent workflow.
This is my updated take on Grok 4.5.
The first version of this article was already positive. After more real work with it, I would go much further. Grok 4.5 is not merely good. It is one of the most useful models I have used for actual development.
It is insanely cooperative, insanely fast, and it usually understands what is happening without needing a huge amount of hand-holding. That combination matters more in daily work than a perfect benchmark score.
It Feels Like a Proper Working Partner
The best thing about Grok 4.5 is how easy it is to work with.
Some models feel like you are negotiating with them. You ask for a direct fix, and they drift into a lecture, redesign the surrounding feature, or spend half the session arguing with the shape of the task.
Grok 4.5 usually does the opposite. It gets the point, moves quickly, and stays close to the instruction. If the architecture is good, it can say so. If something needs attention, it normally points at the actual risk instead of inventing drama.
That cooperation is the reason I keep reaching for it. A model does not need to be the most ceremonial or verbose thing in the room. It needs to help me move.
